Large Victorian decorative cast iron fireplace no 179

Highly decorative cast iron fireplace .

Has beautifully decorated canopy and rope design along the top .

The original top shelf , damper cover and coal grate were also missing so I have made replacements in MDF and painted to match.

The front grate was missing and I have sourced a replacement and bonded it into place .

Unfortunately the rear casing was damaged and I have bonded it back into place with structural adhesive and added a angle section to the back corner for added strength (see photo ) and this will not be visible once fitted .

There is a slight bump showing on the inside of the rear casing as I have repaired the crack so it is not visible (see photos for full transparency)

I spend a lot of time and energy being these fires back to life and like to explain the process they have been through.

These are for decorative purposes only and will make a stunning focal point in any room .
